469,714. Collapsable boats. CAVENDER, A. S. Dec. 19, 1936, No. 34979. [Class 113 (ii)] A dinghy constructed of disconnectable parts comprises a sectional hinged bottom a held in alignment by the turnbuckles a<4>. The removable knees d engage in guides a<6> on the sections and at their upper ends are provided with pegs d<1> which engage in holes in a sectional rail e. A stiffener h is threaded through a canvas tube g at the upper edge of the removable rubber skin f. An L-section gunwale j protecting the edge is held in position by threaded bolts j having segmental heads j<2> which are passed through horizontal slots in the stiffener h and vertical slots e<6> in pieces e<4> mounted on the rail. The dinghy is expanded to tighten the jacket laterally by rotating the eccentrics r which bear on the lower ends of the knees d and fore and aft by straightening a toggle b<2> interpolated in the keel c and bearing against the base of the stem c<1>. The hinged stem is provided with an hinged seat supported on a pillar on the bottom.
