[Class 80 (i)] [Also in Group VIII] By swinging a handle 51 a rack 25 is moved out of engagement with a pinion 24 or is held in engagement therewith. The rack is guided by a bracket 38 pivoted at 39 and provided with a pin 43 which engages a groove 44 in the top of the rack and with a roller 41 which engages the back of the rack. Another pin 42 projecting from the bracket engages a cam slot 46 in the enlarged end of a lever 45 pivoted to a crank arm 49 of the shaft 50 of the handle 51. Clockwise movement of the handle against a spring 52 swings the bracket counterelockwise to disengage the rack from the pinion.
