Abstract

467,959. Fastenings. BURGESS, A. F. (Smith & Corona Typewriters, Inc., L. C.) Jan. 9, 1937, No. 719. [Class 44] [Also in Group XVI] A typewriter or like machine is detachably secured to a tilting or other support by means of a one-piece fastener secured to opposite sides of the typewriter and releasably engaging a clip secured to the support. The fastener 10 shown in Figs. 1 and 4, consists of a bent wire having eyes 16 for receiving the securing-screws for the feet 2, and a cross-piece 13 for engaging a clip 25 adjustably secured to the support 3. The typewriter rests on the feet and, though not tightly clamped, is prevented by the fastener from moving in any direction. Soft washers 18 may be interposed between the eyes 16 and the typewriter. The fastener may be provided with a transverse tie-bar and adjustable turn-buttons 17. The eyes 16 may be secured directly to the typewriter or may be replaced by apertured caps fitting over the top of the feet. A U-shaped fastener cooperating with a pair of clips may be employed.
