Abstract

467,758. Batteries. ALKLUM STORAGE BATTERIES, Ltd., and BERG, C. J. April 23, 1936, No. 11574. [Class 53] The cover of a twocell accumulator consists of a metal casting having two depending posts e, f on its under surface to which the electrodes of opposite polarity in the two cells are connected thus joining the cells in series. Threaded apertures are provided for vent plugs and electrolyte level indicating pins d, and two ribs i are provided to fit the mouths of the cells which are of D shape to form a cylindrical exterior. The terminals, one of which is shown in Fig. 4, are provided with two parallel flat surfaces A and they engage in correspondingly shaped openings in the cover to prevent turning when the nuts are being tightened. The cover is held down by a ring m which may be formed with a left-handed thread.
