[Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Groups XVIII and XIX] In hydraulic testing, weighing, or other machines, liquid is supplied at a rate greater than that necessary to maintain the desired pressure, which is controlled by allowing liquid toescape through a valve opened or closed by a plunger 7, oppositely acted on by the pressure and by the load due to a weight 14 adjustable on a lever 13. The plunger 7 may itself constitute the valve in conjunction with a port 10, and the weight may be propelled along the lever to vary the pressure continuously.
