Abstract

598,185. Jet-propulsion plant. LOMBARD, A. A. March 12, 1945, No. 6167. [Class 110 (iii)] A variable jet nozzle has an overriding control to ensure that the jet is set to its maximum area, when the throttle lever is moved to its low power setting. A switch integral with the throttle lever 21 energizes the solenoid 20 and thus operates the valve 12, thus supplying pressure fluid to the ram cylinder 1 and opening the jet nozzle.
