Abstract

625,596. Gas turbine plant. SOC. RATEAU (SOC. ANON.), and ANXIONNAZ, R. April 15, 1947, No. 10027. Convention date, May 29, 1946. [Class 110(iii)] Relates to gas turbine plant for aircraftpropulsion which comprises a high-pressure turbine 5 driving a high-pressure compressor 4 and a low-pressure turbine 3 driving a low-pressure compressor 1, preferably on coaxial shafts. Starting is effected by external driving of the highpressure set and to facilitate this the lowpressure compressor and turbine are bypassed by valves 7, 8. The valves 7 open automatically and the valves 8 are opened by means of pressure fluid. The exhaust passing through the valves 8 is directed through nozzles towards the propulsion jet. The low-pressure set may drive an airscrew. Specification 650,661 is referred to.
