467,106. Thermionic valves. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., and BRETT, G. F. Dec. 10, 1935, No. 34218. Drawings to Specification. [Class 39 (i)] An electron beam valve comprises an intensity controlling electrode surrounding and coaxial with, the cathode and having a slot or split through which the discharge to the collector anode passes. The control electrode may be a cylinder having a longitudinal slot such that a broad flat beam is produced. An accelerating and screen electrode having a slot in alignment with that in the control electrode may be provided. In a push-pull valve an axial cathode may be surrounded by two control electrodes side by side, each in association with a screen and collector electrode, or the screen electrode may be common to the two assemblies which may also be screened from each other.
