Abstract

467,017. Lasts. FIKANY, J. A. Jan. 12, 1937, No. 948. Convention date, Jan. 15, 1936. [Class 17 (i)] The forward sole portion 8 is convex and provided with raised areas 16, 18 corresponding to the sesamoid and fifth metatarsal head. Between these raised areas is a wide groove 20 extending towards the heel, the groove being deep at its forward end and growing shallower toward the heel. The groove accommodates a built-in arch support, preferably of the kind described in Specification 461,459, and is off-set forwardly to the inside of the foot. The longitudinal arch 26 is high so that this portion of the shoe made on the last is narrow and exercises an upward and inward pressure on the foot.
