466,659. Vehicle wheels. AKT.-GES. DER EISEN-UND STAHLWERKE VORM. G. FISCHER. Jan. 4, 1937, No. 235. Convention date, Jan. 4, 1936. [Class 144 (ii)] In wheels comprising a body-portion in the form of a spider on the spoke-arms of which one or more tyre-carrying rims are detachably mounted, some or all of these parts being formed of light metal (or alloy), a spray-coating of hard metal (or alloy) is applied to the seating surfaces of the rims or spoke-arms, or to both. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a segmental lightmetal rim 2, 3, 4, mounted on a wheel-spider 7 of cast steel &c., has the seating-lugs 5 of the rim and the butt-ends of the rim segments spraycoated with carbon-steel or a steel alloy, as indicated at 11, 12. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the twin rims 15, 16 and the wheelspider 13 are both formed of light metal. Hard metal coatings 19 are applied to the seating-portions 18 of the rims and to the spoke-heads on which the rim-clamping ring 20 is seated.
