Abstract

466,083. Convertible beach bag and tent. MASCHKE, G. Sept. 1, 1936, No. 23916. Convention date, Aug. 6. [Class 20 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] A bag is formed by folding material 1 on itself, securing the ends by a sliding-clasp fastening 4, then folding across to form a bag and coverflap 6 which is secured to the bag by press-studs 8 and fastenings 5. Portions of fitted rods 10, 12 are secured in loops in the bag and act as stiffeners and a further rod 3 serves as a handle. By opening out the flaps and releasing the edges, the sheet may serve as a tent covering and be supported at the corners by the rods, which are fitted together and held by guy ropes. The bag may hold a lateral surround for the tent and also a ground-sheet 13 with pocket 14 to receive a pillow.
