[Class 79 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXII] In a motor lorry or like heavy road vehicle of the kind in which the rear axle assembly comprises separate axles 3 and differential gear casing 2, the wheel structure driven by each live axle comprises a pair of wheels 4, 5 spaced a substantial distance apart upon a common hub 23, which is capable of rocking movement about a longitudinal axis upon a cylindrical member 10 keyed upon the outer. end of the axle casing 11. In order that the rocking movement of the wheel structure should not effect the transmission of the drive between the axle 3 and hub 23, the axle has formed upon its outer end a fork 32 with grooved or slotted limbs engaged by arms 33 on the inner end of a short transverse shaft 34, the outer end of which is formed with similar arms 35 coacting with limbs 36 on the interior of a cover 37, 38 bolted to the hub 23, the elements 32, 36 constituting a universal joint that permits the necessary relative movement.
