Abstract
465,163. Struts for display boxes. CLEMENTS, NEWLING, & CO., Ltd., and JARVIS, A. Oct. 30, 1935, No. 30017. [Class 52 (v)] A strut for supporting display boxes in an inclined position comprises two triangular wing pieces 5 and a flap 3 moved to its operative position between the wings, so as to hold them extended, by a spring loop 10 when the wings are opened out. The parts may be cut out and bent up from the back of the cardboard box 8 or may be provided on a separate support. The wings in their collapsed position hold the flap 3 collapsed against the action of the spring. The side edges of the flaps 3, Fig. 3, are serrated to facilitate their movement over the wings. Fig. 6 shows a modification in which the flap is provided with T-shaped tongues 11 engaging arcuate slots 12 in the wings. When the wings are turned outwardly the tongues 11 enter the enlarged ends 13 of the slots and then travel along the slots to look the wings against collapse.
