[Class 123 (ii)] In a boiler having groups of tubes F, C1 enclosing the combustion chamber, theupper parts f of the tubes F in the path of the escaping furnace gases are forked to increase tube surface heated by conduction. The forks may be reunited before the connections of the tubes with the upper drum A, and the back row of tubes may be staggered instead of being forked.
