Abstract

463,903. Wireless receiving-apparatus. MANN, A. N. April 17, 1936, No. 11090. Convention date, April 18, 1935. [Class 40 (v)] Interference is prevented by means which render the signal path inoperative and include an auxiliary amplifier and rectifier operative by voltages exceeding predetermined limits. The Figure shows a signal amplifier 13 with a grid 32 controlled by the voltage across a resistance 48 in the load circuit of a rectifier 46, 47 fed by an amplifier 33. A separate rectifier may be used, Fig. 4 (not shown), and the operating threshold may be controlled by the bias potentiometer 35 or by a voltage derived for automatic volume control. Instability may be avoided by operating the valve 33 as a-frequency changer, Fig. 3 (not shown), and the time constant of resistance condenser combination 48, 49 is preferably not longer than one ten-thousandth of a second.
