Abstract

463,071. Radiators for heating and cooling buildings. SANKEY & SONS, Ltd., J., and POYNOR, F. W. Sept. 23, 1935, No. 26272. [Class 64 (ii)] In a radiator for heating or cooling in which fluid is passed through a grid of pipes B held firmly in contact with a face panel A acting as a radiator surface, the marginal portions of the panel are secured in contact with the outer surfaces of bases c of sheet metal trimmers C of channel section adapted to be secured to a wall to which the open sides of the channels are presented. The outer side wall c of the channel is flanged out at c3 in a direction parallel to the panel, and slants in at c<2> to form a key for wall plaster. Metal straps c<4> may connect and be stamped out integral with trimmers on opposite sides of the panel. The pipes B may be welded to the panel or to the metal straps, which are recessed at c<5> to receive them. The panel is held by screws e and may form a skirting having rearwardly extending flanges engaging packed grooves or rabbets in the trimmers. A sheet of heat-insulating material may be placed on the wall behind the grid B.
