[Class 122 (i)] In a piston comprising a head 1 carrying a gudgeon-pin bush 6 upon which the skirt 5 is pivotally mounted, and in which the portions 4 of the skirt between the thrust faces are flat, a free annular space is provided between the bush support 2 and the rim of the head for the passage of cool oil vapour. The skirt may be perforated and the head grooved as at 8.
