Abstract

461,595. Controlling motor vehicles. JENDRASSIK, G., and GANZ & CO., Ltd. April 8, 1936, No. 10415. Convention date, April 9, 1935. [Class 79 (v)] [Also in Group XXVII] In motor-vehicle engines operating with injection of liquid fuel, the working of the engine under light loads or no load is improved by throttling the exhaust pipe, and the backpressure thus set up in the exhaust pipe may be led to braking-devices on the vehicle wheels. In the construction shown, a throttle valve 46 in the exhaust pipe is closed against the force of a spring 51 by means of arms 48, 49 when the accelerator pedal 47 controlling the fuel pump 2 is released. A pipe (not shown) may lead from the exhaust pipe to the brakes.
