Abstract
386,564. Regulating. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.- (Maschinenfabrik Augsburg-Nurnberg Akt.- Ges., Nuremberg, Germany.) July 12, 1932, No. 19724. [Class 7 (vi).] For facilitating idle running of multicylinder oil engines for motor vehicles, part of the cylinders are cut out of action, and the remainder supplied with hot air instead of cold. The throttle valve c controlling the supply of air to all the cylinders is connected to a second throttle valve d controlling the air supply to a part of the cylinders, and to another throttle valve f controlling the supply of hot air by a pipe e to the remainder of the cylinders. When the accelerator is adjusted for idle running, the throttles c and d are closed, and the throttle f opened. The supply of fuel to the right-hand cylinders is also cut off, these cylinders being connected by a pipe g to a braking-cylinder.
