[Class 40 (iii)] To obtain a narrow band of picture frequencies in a velocity-modulation system, the voltages from a saw-tooth oscillator 5, which deflect a cathode ray 2, modulate a highfrequency oscillator 13 and pass through resonant circuits 19, 20, which have a response curve covering the desired band of frequencies, to a demodulator 21 and thence to deflecting- plates 11, 12.
