Abstract
462,110. Television transmitters. WHITE, E. L. C. June 24, 1935, No. 18099. [Class 40 (iii)] The picture received from an " iconoscope " transmitter or a transmitter of the type disclosed in Specification 442,666 is found to possess an uneven shading due to the presence of spurious signals. This defect is overcome by mixing with the picture signals a correcting signal comprising integrations of the saw-tooth scanning oscillations. A simple integrating circuit comprises a resistance R, Fig. 1, and condenser C, the integrated signal being taken off from condenser C. The second integration may be added, being obtained by subjecting the first integration to a second circuit such as that of Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, (not shown). The correcting signal may also include a saw tooth scanning oscillation component, the input of Fig. 1 being fed from a potentiometer, Fig. 3 (not shown). In a more complex circuit, the saw-tooth oscillation is fed to the grid of valve 6, the condenser 12 and resistance 8 acting as an integrating circuit, and the integrated wave is amplified by valve 13. The valve 13 may be operated so that its cathode potential follows its grid potential by connecting a condenser between its cathode and the junction of resistance 8 and a second resistance in the anode circuit of valve 6, Fig. 5 (not shown). This arrangement enables a more accurate integration to be performed. Specification 463,967 is referred to.
