Abstract
In a process for improving the capacity of cellulose fibres for being dyed by wool dyestuffs, the fibres are subjected to the action of ethylene-imine preferably at a raised temperature, the ethylene-imine being present as a vapour. In an example, 55 gms. of viscose staple fibre are subjected to vacuum in an autoclave and then treated with the vapour of 10 c.cs. of ethylene-imine for 4 hours at 100 DEG C. The fibre is then washed with water, dilute sulphuric acid and again with water.
