Abstract

323,175. Lilienfeld, L. July 2, 1928. Yarns, treating with liquids.-Vegetable fibres or textiles either alone or as a mixture are treated with strong alkali at a temperature substantially above 100‹ C., say between 120‹ and 150‹, thus acquiring strength and lustre. Solutions of from 20-25 per cent to 60-74 per cent may be used; five minutes treatment may be given at 120‹ or a less time at higher temperatures. Specification 254,695 is referred to.
