Abstract
460,524. Printing-surfaces. GILLARD, G. J., and JUBB, F. July 29, 1935, No. 21510. [Class 100 (ii)] A printing-plate clamping-device comprises an undercut head 10 for engaging the chamfered edge of the printing-plate 12a, a shank 11 fixed to the head 10 and adapted to be entered into one of numerous apertures 25 in the printing bed or cylinder 26, the shank being bifurcated at 14a, and a block 13 which is pivoted at 14 between the furcations 14a at its lower end and the upper end of which can be displaced from the furcations by rotating a screw 17 adapted to come into direct contact with the block, the screw being received in an aperture 16 formed with a screw-thread from the upper surface of the head 10 downwardly. A recess 18 in the screw is adapted to be engaged by a key, the screw in its downward movement forcing the block into engagement with the side of, or a shoulder 24 in, the aperture 25, whereby the head 10 is forced against the printing-plate.
