Abstract

460,256. Pumps for grout and the like. ANNISON, R. H. July 26, 1935, No. 21290. [Class 102 (i)] In a pump for grout &c. the material enters a lower chamber through an inlet 11 and passes through suction valves 28 to an upper chamber, from which it is discharged by the pump plungers 14 through a lower chamber 9, the discharge valves 29, an upper chamber 8 and the outlet 12. The valves 28, 29 are of non-corrosive metal and engage spherical seatings 32 with rounded edges in rings 31. The latter may be of non-corrosive metal and are leaded into the partition 10. The suction valves are heavier than the discharge valves, which may be hollow. Removable covers 33 over the valve seatings are provided with internal projections 34 and with airrelease cocks 33<1>. The air chamber 18 communicates with the upper chamber 8 through upstanding passages 19 in the casting. The passages may be extended by tubes 201. Compressed air can be supplied to the air chamber through a connection 24. The tube 22, which is connected to the gauge 21, is bent upwards, as shown. The pump may be driven by power, or by hand through gearing 17 or otherwise.
