Abstract

459,971. Closures for bottles &c. BLANCH, E. A., and KORK-N-SEAL, Ltd., 40, Norfolk Street, Strand, London. Nov. 27, 1935, No. 32870. [Class 125 (iii)] A closure for bottles, jars, &c. comprises an inner cap 10 provided with thread grooves 14 for engagement with a corresponding formation on the bottle and an outer cap telescoped 11 over the inner cap and having its lower edge 24, which has a wavy or undulating appearance, folded inwardly and upwardly around the lower end 16 of the inner cap which is formed with a continuous series of corrugations or ribs 19 ; the lower ends of the caps are subjected to pressure to secure them positively together, the lower edge 24 of the outer cap assuming, to some extent, the form of the corrugations 19. The portion of the inner cap below the threaded portion 14 is of greater diameter than this portion so that a substantially horizontal ledge 18 is formed between the portions. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to U.S.A. Specification 1,963,635.
