Abstract
459,399. Control mechanism for cycles. CAMILLIS, L., c/o Cyclo Gear Co., Ltd., Potters Hill, Aston, Birmingham. Oct. 25, 1935, No. 29456. [Class 136 (i)] In a gate-change bracket for the operating- lever of a Bowden &c. cable, more particularly for controlling a variable gear on a cycle, and of the type comprising two spaced plates provided with stops and notches for the lever, half of the clip for attaching the bracket to the top bar &c. of the cycle frame is formed integral with one plate of the bracket. One of the spaced plates 2, to which the lever 6 is pivoted at 3, is formed with pressed-out lugs 13, 14, Fig. 4, adapted to form one side of the attachment clip 10, Fig. 1, for embracing the frame tube 12, the complementary part 17, Fig. 5, of the clip being provided with one or more slots 16 to receive the hooked end 15 of the lug 13, a bolt engaging the apertured lower flanges 18, 19. The plate 2 is also formed with a depending integral extension 20, the end 21 of which is bent to form a sleeve adapted to guide the cable 9 and act as an abutment for the casing thereof.
