Abstract

500,985. Control levers for cycles &c. CAMILLIS, L. Sept. 22, 1937, No. 25668. [Class 136 (i)] Lever mechanism for actuating a Bowden cable on motor and other cycles &c. comprises a pulley revolubly mounted on a rigid peg on one part of a two-part clip, between a bearing shoulder and a spring pressure plate -fitted with a screw to vary the friction on the pulley, and is characterized in that such part of the clip is provided with a lateral extension adapted to carry a stud forming an anchorage for an end ferrule of a Bowden cable, and with a projection constituting a stop for the control arm or lever. The attachment clip is formed of two semicircular parts hooked together at one end and bolted together at the other, one part 2 having riveted to it a peg 1 on which is fixed a plate 4 forming a bearing shoulder for a disc or pulley 5. which is rotatably mounted on the peg 1. and is rigid with an actuating-arm 23. The inner cable 14 is located in a groove 7 in the pulley 5, its end being threaded thro.ugh a chord-like hole 19 and fixed by a radial set-screw 20. The pulley 5 is subjected to adjustable frictional constraint by means of a washer 8' non-rotatably mounted on the peg 1, a spring pressure plate 10 and a screw stud 13. The clip member 2 is formed with a lateral extension 15 to which is riveted a stud 16 having a screw-threaded hole to receive the anchoring ferrule 18 of the Bowden casing. A second lateral. extension 21 of the clip member 2 is provided with a bent-up projection 22 forming a stop for the control arm 23 in one direction, the extension 15 forming a stop in the other direction.
