[Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] An intervalve coupling for carrier frequency television amplifiers comprises two high frequency chokes 2, 3, coupled as tightly as possible to constitute a transformer, the natural frequencies of the two windings being equal and less than the carrier frequency while the shunt capacities 8, 7, which are the stray capacities of windings 2, 3, are made as small as possible. The parallel damping resistances 5, 6, are equal to, or less than the oscillation resistance (#L/V) of the corresponding winding. Comparative data for choke and transformer couplings are given and a mathematical comparison is also made. Specification 446,346 is referred to.
