457,245. Registering - mechanism. BLACK, H. D., 39, St. James's Street, Pall Mall, Westminster, and WEBB, C. F., Dean Way Eastcote, Middlesex. Feb. 28, 1936, No. 6071. [Class 106 (i)] Zeroizing-mechanism.-Each of the numeral wheels of a taximeter or other registering- mechanism is reset to zero by means of a lever with a pair of noses which when the lever is actuated co-operate with a projection carried on one side of the wheel and radially displaced from the axis thereof, the movement being completed when the projection contacts with the two noses. The axis of the numeral wheels is disposed between the paths of movement of the noses. As shown in Fig. 1, a numeral wheel 1, driven by a ratchet 3 and pawl 4 operatively connected to a driving cam 7, carries a roller 18. When the wheel is to be restored to zero position a shaft 14 is rotated and a cam 13 thereon rocks a lever 15, with two noses 24, 25, towards the axis of the wheel. During this movement one or other of the noses meets the roller 18 and causes the wheel to move until the roller 18 engages the two noses as shown in Fig. 3. During the resetting operation, the cam 13 acts through a lever 11 to rock the lever 5 carrying the driving pawl 4 so as to withdraw the pawl 4 and the detent 20 from operative position.
