[Class 132 (ii).] A scoring device for golf and other games comprises a watch-shaped casing 8 enclosing an annular series of stationary dials 15 and associated pointers 16, 17, mechanism for driving the pointers from a centrally mounted pinion 21, and means for successively engaging the central pinion with each pointer. The eighteen dials are arranged in nine concentric pairs, the pointers of each pair being each connected to one of a pair of coaxial pinions 18, each provided with a zeroizing spring and retaining pawl 56. The pointer pinions 18 are adapted for selective engagement with the central pinion 21 by an idler 26 that is carried by an arm 25 projecting from a hub, slidable and rotatable relatively to a central spindle 19. The arm 25 is rotated, successively to engage the pinions 18 with the pinion 26, by means of a lever 27, the outer end of which projects through the casing while the inner end is adapted for co-operation with a ratchet wheel 23 rigid with the arm. The arm 25 is adjustable axially of the spindle 19, to select the pinion 18 of a pair, by means of cams 29 carried by an externally operable shaft 30. The central pinion is rotatable for scoring purposes by depression of a pushbutton 32 connected by a rod 31 to a ratchet wheel rigid with the pinion. Depression of the pushbutton 32 serves also, through pawl 34 and ratchet wheel 33, to advance a pointer 14 around a dial 13 to indicate the total score. The pointers are simultaneously zeroized by a sliding movement of a lug 38 projecting from an annular member (not shown) that is rotatable through a small angle within the casing and is provided with slots to receive the tails of the retaining pawls 56 of the pointer pinions and to engage a lever 42 connected to the retaining pawl 40 for the total pointer.
