Motor Car & Railway Carriage & Wagon Builders; 200, Kartouzska, Smichov, Prague) May 23, 1935, No. 15099. [Classes 79 (ii) and 79 (iv)] [See also Group XXXII] In order to increase ground clearance the half-axles 6, oscillating in a vertical transverse plane, are arranged above the road wheel axis 1. In the construction shown applied to driving wheels, the half-axle shaft 5 drives the road wheel through gearing 4, 3, and is itself driven by gearing 9 permitting the oscillatory movement of the half-axles. The half-axles 6 are mounted on a gear case 8 in any suitable manner so as to oscillate thereon. The non-driving wheels may be similarly mounted on swinging half-axles or may be mounted on a rigid axle bent upwardly at the middle part.
