264,378. Chandler, J. H., Lloyd, G. E., and Venables, R. E. S. Nov. 5, 1925. Springs, arrangement of.-Each of a pair of driving wheels D of a motor vehicle is mounted at one end of a radius arm pivoted to the chassis on a transverse axis 3d, the arms being independently movable under the control of suspension springs 8, and a, driving motor 9 being fixed on each arm so that the wheel, motor, and driving gear oscillate as one unit about the axis 3d. The axis 3<d> is preferably arranged in front of, and above, the wheel axis. As shown, the motor 9 and gear casing 1<d> constitute the radius arm, which is inclined outwardly, as well as downwardly, from the axis 3d to the wheel centre. The wheel units are mounted in the, fore-carriage turning-frame described in Specification 179,669.
