401,635. Motor road vehicles. LJUNGSTROM, B., 83, Linnegatan, Stockholm. April 14, 1931, No. 11079. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, March 6, 1932]. [Class 79 (iii).] An engine and transmission unit is arranged wholly or partly between the driving wheels ; and the wheels, in order to facilitate his arrangement, are carried independently on arms extending forwards or backwards and mounted in transverse bearings on the frame. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the power unit 2 is arranged between and drives the front wheels 3, each of the front wheels 3 and the rear wheels 4 being independently mounted on an arm 5 which is free to oscillate in a vertical plane under the control of the suspension springs about transverse bearings 6. The frame 1 is arranged below the level of the wheel axle. In a modification, Fig. 4, the engine 2 is arranged between the rear wheels with its crank shaft transverse and with horizontal or vertical cylinders. The rear wheels are driven through transverse cardan shafts.
