Abstract
457,053. Driving - gear. LEE, G. H., Causeway House, Sawley, near Clitheroe, Lancashire, and WOROBJEFF, N., 198, Goldhurst Terrace, Kilburn, London. July 10, 1935, No. 19659. Addition to 453,288. [Class 7 (ii)] Piston movement is transmitted to concentric propellershafts 5, 8 through eccentrics 14 integral with or fixed to a sleeve 11 rotatably mounted on the crank-pin of the shaft 1. A toothed rim 15 on the sleeve 11 gears with an internally toothed ring on an extension of the shaft 8, which also has fixed to it a toothed wheel 19. Planetwheels 17 carried by the inner propeller-shaft 5 engage both the wheel 19 and an internallytoothed rim 18 on the crankshaft 1. The opposite end of the crank-shaft may have associated with it a transverse spindle 24 with bevel-gears engaged by further bevel-gears on the sleeve 11 and fixed to the casing, respectively. This gearing serves to maintain the correct relation between the pistons and crank-shaft.
