Abstract

Sodium N - methyl - C : C-allylisopropyl-barbiturate (see Specification 454,779), is put up into ampoules in a dry readily-soluble form by filling concentrated alcoholic solutions of the salt into ampoules, evaporating the solutions at ordinary temperature and under reduced pressure until a syrupy consistency is reached, and quickly heating to remove the remaining alcohol and inflate the solid residue. The ampoules are then filled with dry air free from carbon dioxide and sealed. An example is given. Swiss Specification 153,032 is referred to.ALSO:Sodium N - methyl - C : C - allylisopropylbarbiturate is put up into ampoules in a dry readily-soluble form by filling concentrated alcoholic solutions of the salt into ampoules, evaporating the solutions at ordinary temperature and under reduced pressure until a syrupy consistency is reached, and quickly heating to remove the remaining alcohol and inflate the solid residue.
