[Class 69 (i)] A meter comprising two measuring vessels alternately filled and emptied under the control of a main set of valves and pistons operated by pressure under the control of an auxiliary set, and in which the auxiliary set is actuated by pressure when a vessel is completely filled, is provided with means for ensuring that the pressure required for actuating the auxiliary set is greater than that for the main set. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the main set 7 has a cam 8 acted on by a roller 9 under the influence of a spring 10, while the auxiliary set 27 has a cam 28 acted on by a roller 29 under the influence of a stronger spring 30. Air accumulators 17a, 17b are provided, and a float 20 prevents movement of the auxiliary set except when a measuring chamber has been emptied. The sections, lengths, and levels of the hydraulic paths from the measuring chambers to the float chamber 18, and from the float chamber to the end of the delivery pipe 19, are such that the velocity of flow to the float chamber exceeds the velocity of flow therefrom. The main and/or auxiliary set may each comprise one valve member, and two pistons, and either or both sets may be divided into two groups each consisting of a three-way piston valve and a piston as shown in Figs. 3 and 4. The spring 10 may act through a pivoted link 43 and the spring 30 through a lever 46, while the float may carry a bar notched at 54, 55, so as to be adapted to lock the lever 46.
