Abstract

456,024. Siphon-bottles. GOULD, H., T., 87, Broomwood Road, and GOULD, Ltd., H., Wayford Street, both in Battersea, London. July 25, 1935. No. 21142. Addition to 433,986. [Class 14 (i)] A device as described in the parent Specificationfor throttling the flow of liquid through the nozzle of a siphon bottle and for imparting a whirling motion to the discharged liquid, is mounted in the well 7 of the siphon tube 8. A plug-member 30, provided with a notched seating 32 and whirling orifices 35, 36 as described in the parent Specification, is a screw or press fit in the well 7. The throttling member 10 for co-operating with the seat 32 is held from the seat by a spring 12, the tension of which is adjusted by a nut 11. In modifications, the member 10 is formed as a disc valve or a hollow ball valve. Where a ball valve is used, the upper end of the siphon tube is notched, or the ball is held towards the seat 32 by a spring, so that the ball cannot close the siphon tube during filling.
