Abstract

608,510. Valve seats. PENNEY, W. R. Jan. 29, 1947, No. 3474/46. [Class 135] A removable seat for a valve comprises a hollow tubular member 7, Fig. 1, with coned external surface which enables the seat to be wedged in the cylindrical passage 3 through which the fluid flows. The aperture 10 in the flanged top surface of the seat is spherically shaped to accommodate a ball closure member 5 or a washer of the shape shown in Fig. 2. The seat member 7 is made of stainless steel.
