Abstract
464,244. Spray-producers. GODDARD, M. July 6, 1936, No. 18690. [Class 69 (iii)] [Also in Groups XXIII and VI] A device suitable for cleansing dishes, washing hair, or for deodorizing, disinfecting, or like purposes, comprises a hollow portable member through which liquid may be passed on its way to a perforated element at the outlet end, the member being formed with a chamber containing a perforated or gauze-like member which is adapted to contain a supply of cleansing or like agent, and is partially enveloped by an angularly displaceable sleeve with a tapered end, the displacement of the sleeve varying the perforated area presented to the incoming liquid. In the construction shown, a hollow member 1 is provided at one end with a tube 2 for connection to a source of liquid supply and at the other end with a perforated outlet tube 3. Within the member is located a perforated or gauze-like material 8 containing the required liquidconditioning agent. The material is carried by a tapered sleeve 9 formed with a collar seated in an opening 10 which is closed by a detachable cap 12. The sleeve 9 may be angularly displaced to vary the effect of the conditioning agent on the liquid passing through the member 1. A valve controlled byepass may be provided so that some of the liquid used may not be subjected to the action of the conditioning agent.
