Abstract
Bandaging - material, such as fabric or wadding, is impregnated with a highly dilute-alkali silicate solution to which a neutralizing solution is added up to approximate or complete neutrality either before or after the insertion of the material. The concentration of the silicate solution is such that no coagulation occurs on adding the neutralizing acid, e.g. hydrochloric. One litre of 38 DEG B<\>ae. solution diluted with 15--20 litres of water is suitable.ALSO:Bandaging - material, such as fabric or wadding, is impregnated with a highly dilute alkali silicate solution to which a neutralizing solution is added up to approximate or complete neutrality either before or after the insertion of the material.
