Abstract

454,109. Air - gas generation. FAUCONNIER, E., 66, Rue Charles Fourier, Vitry-Port, Seine, France. June 17, 1935, No. 17407. Convention date, June 16, 1934. [Class 55 (ii)] Air-gas generators of the type in which a switch in the circuit of an air pump motor is opened and closed by a lever carried on the top of a bell gas holder have a carburetter formed as a parallelepipedic box with baffling partitions slightly inclined in opposite directions and filled with capillary material impregnated with liquid fuel. A pump E draws air through a pipe b<1> into a box-shaped carburetter B filled with capillary material such as carbonized cork, finely ground coal, or felted hair and having slightly inclined baffles b. Gasoline &c. is supplied through a pipe I from a tank A by means of a cup on a rotary arm driven from the pump motor E<1>. Carburetted air passes through a pipe b4, pump E and a pipe L with liquid seal L<1> into a bell holder C whence it is delivered through a tube K. As the holder descends on consumption of the gas, a lever H acts on a switch G to close the circuit of the air pump motor ; when gas accumulates in the holder, the reverse action stops the air pump and gasoline feed supply Specifications 9325/08, [Class 55], and 12347 / 10, [Class 55 (ii)], are referred to
