Abstract

454,103. Supplying liquid fuel; regulating. CASTELLINI, A., 17, Via Milano, Voghera, Italy. April 5, 1935, No. 10633. [Classes 7 (iii) and 7 (vi)] Air under pressure, which acts through a pipe 15 on the fuel in an auxiliary tank 12 to force it through an injector 3, enters the engine cylinder continuously through a pipe 10 connected to the injector. An excess of fuel is supplied to the tank by a pump and a constant level is maintained by an overflow pipe 16 which delivers the excess into a float chamber 20 connected by a pipe 24 to the main fuel tank. To control the quantity of fuel injected, the height of the tank is adjusted relatively to the fuel pipes 7 leading to the injectors. The pipes connected to the tank 12 are flexible. The fuel is supplied to the injectors intermittently either past engine-operated valves 5 or by altering mechanic. ally the level of the tank.
