451,625. Nonconducting coverings for heat and sound. SCHREIBER, E., Thusis, Graub³nden, Switzerland. May 30, 1935, No. 15808. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Dec. 2, 1935.] [Class 64 (ii)] [See also Group X] A sound and heat insulating sheet or slab, particularly for covering floors, is made by impregnating a surface of a wood fibre sheet with a mixture of a fatty drying oil and resin so that part only of the depth is permeated and no coating is formed so that the fibres of the surface are not completely covered, and drying and hot pressing the product. A suitable impregnating liquid is linseed or wood oil boiled with colophony and a drier. The hot mixture is distributed on the surface of the sheet lying on a hot plate and is sucked in by a vacuum acting through the sheet. Alternatively, the liquid is applied to the sheet and caused to penetrate by rollers whose surfaces may be supplied with colour. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 refers also to the use of the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Celotex." This subject - matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
