Abstract

In coverings of the linoleum or felt base type provided on the reverse side with a layer of a normally non-tacky composition adapted to be rendered adhesive by means of a solvent, as described in the parent Specification, the layer of cementitious material has channels or grooves therein subdividing it into a multiplicity of sections. The cementitious material may be applied in solution, e.g. by a doctor blade, partly dried, embossed by a wood drum, the surface of which is fitted with a network of brass strips and is continuously lubricated, e.g. with machine oil applied by a further roll, and the drying completed.
