284,957. Turner, C. W., and Turner, M. G. Sept. 21, 1927. Shoes for hand-irons are provided with a layer of heat-insulating material 2, such as asbestos millboard, between the shoe and the iron. The material may be covered by a metal sheet, and may be secured to the shoe by an adhesive or by tongues cut out of the flange of the shoe or by a bead in the flange.
