Abstract
451,329. Automatic control systems. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC & MANUFACTURING CO., East Pittsburg, U.S.A.- (Assignees of Bletz, E. ; Lexington, Ohio, U.S.A.) Feb. 12, 1936, No. 4254. Convention date, April 2, 1935. [Class 38 (iv) Temperature.-An electric cooker is raised to a maximum temperature and thereafter maintained at a lower temperature level by two thermostatic switches 43, 45 connected in parallel and in series with the heating element. One switch has a greater temperature differential than that to which it will be subjected during the operation of the cooker, and after it has opened does not close until the supply circuit has been opened and the cooker has cooled substantially. The switches employed preferably comprise a dished bimetallic element, constructed according to Specification 178,103, [Class 47 (i)], carrying contacts co-operating with fixed contacts in the supply circuit, and adjustable by means of an arm 39. Manual switches 47, 49 in series with the respective thermostatic switches enable a selection of three types of temperature control to be obtained.
