Abstract
370,062. Thermostats ; electric switches. BAKELITE, Ltd., 68, Victoria Street, London, and MULLINGER, L. W., Mouldensite Works, Darley Dale, Derbyshire. Jan. 7, 1931, No. 640. [Class 64 (ii).] In apparatus for varying automatically the temperature, pressure, voltage or other physical condition of a. body over a given time period according to a determined law, and comprising a device for measuring the condition and regulating means controlled by the measuring device through electric contact elements, the boundary of the contact surface of the clock-driven element is defined by a covering of electric insulating varnish applied to a part of the surface. The covering may be changed when a change of law is desired. In the arrangement shown, a bimetallic thermal strip 4 in an oven 5 carries a contact arm 3 which is movable over a clockdriven disc 1, a part 11 of the disc surrounding a curve a .. d denoting the determined law being covered with shellac varnish. The arm 3 and disc 1 complete the circuit of a relay 8 controlling a switch 9 of the furnace heating element 10.
