451,146. Adjusting wireless apparatus; indicating - apparatus. THOMAS, A., 6, Rue Edgarquinet, Malakoff, Seine, France. June 24, 1935, No. 18112. Convention date, June 22, 1934. [Class 37] [See also Group XIX] A device for in dicating the setting of a member, par ticularly applicable to the tuning mem ber of a wireless apparatus, comprises a flexible rack 1 carrying an index or pointer 5, co-operating with a scale 6, the rack having means for ensuring its rigidity in a longitudinal direction, and being operated by a toothed wheel or pinion 3 mounted on a control member 4. The rack may be made of a steel ribbon of curved cross-section. It may be provided with one or more rows of holes 2 co-operating with the teeth on one or more pinions, and is guided by sleeves 7. In modifications, the rack has two vertical arms, or two arms at right angles, each carrying pointers cooperating with scales. In other arrangements the guides are arranged to change the orientation of the rack. The scale may be of polygonal form, the guiding sleeves being then arranged on its inner or outer periphery.
