A date indicator comprises four coaxial or concentric indicators 46, 55, 57, 59, one, 46, being set daily by hand to indicate the date against a fixed mark 70 and being kinematically connected to each of the others to cause complete revolutions in 23, 28 and 33 days respectively. In one embodiment, Fig. 2, the disc 46 is turned by a knob 47 with 31 internal teeth engaging a toothed wheel 49 keyed to a spindle 48 to which is also keyed a toothed wheel 64. The wheel 64 meshes with a wheel 68 secured to a pivot 69 to which are also secured wheels 65, 66 and 68 meshing with wheels 61, 62 and 63 keyed to sleeves depending from the discs 59, 57 and 55, the gear ratios being suitably chosen. The disc 46 can be adjusted independently of the other discs at the end of a 30- day month by lifting the knob 47 to free its internal teeth from the wheel 49. In another embodiment the manual adjustment is made through a knurled case band driving the three discs positively through appropriate gearing but driving the date disc frictionally to allow for independent adjustment at the end of a month. It is alleged that all the periods 23, 28 and 33 days correspond to biological rhythms in a human being and that curves on the discs show the amplitudes of the rhythms.
